Welcome to episode 12. In this episode we’re exploring the notions of work/life balance and how this applies to the modern-day adult. Our time is taken up by so many commitments these days – children, relationships, community, friendships – so it’s easy to see how we can quickly become overwhelmed and resentful when these things play for our time alongside our work commitments. Start balancing your obligations with things you desire and you’ll see a shift in your personal well-being.
In this episode we cover:
- How asking yourself what you want more of and less of in your life can help you visualise a better balance.
- Taking time for leisure will only ever be granted by you as a business owner – so claim it!
- How readdressing the traditional work/life timeline can lead to a happier life – you don’t need to wait to reward yourself.
- How bringing more joy and contentment into your life is key when life gets stressful.

This is a whole new way of thinking about the work life balance which has never occurred to me but of course, you’re right. Every episode of this series has made me rethink something or shift my focus slightly to look at things in a different way. I love it!
That makes me really happy Victoria, I love a new perspective! Helen x
Your comments about “waiting for retirement” really resonated with me. Both my parents died too young and didn’t make it to retirement. This is what drove me to my career change and to finding work I love. Still a work in progress, but getting there.
I am so sorry to hear that Suzie, but it is wonderful that you are finding a way to live your life now and not later on. Much love. H.x
